The Haus der Seefahrt is a landmark, a listed building and a symbol of Hanseatic architecture. Built in 1909\/10 by Edgar Fo\u00dfhag and Georg Schlepps as a rental office building, it combines Art Nouveau elements with functional clarity. Its striking sandstone fa\u00e7ade, reliefs and the statue of Hammonia make it a unique piece of architecture in the heart of the old town.<\/p>\n
